We’re constantly thinking about ways we can improve the experience that our customers have. One of the most overlooked parts of the customer experience in our industry is the mock up approval process.
Until now, the standard process involved a designer placing artwork on a stock photo of the flat apparel, then eyeballing the placement and guessing the scale. It works OK most of the time, but it’s never an accurate representation of how the final prints look. And it’s even worse at representing what matters most to you – what it looks like when someone is actually wearing the shirt!
Late last year we began partnering with SEDDI Decorator, a software specifically designed to solve the ambiguity inherent in the traditional mock up process. As an early adopter of the software, we were able to give feedback that SEDDI used to help shape the software’s functionality. So it’s been built with real print shop input from the start. SEDDI Decorator builds true-to-life 3D mock ups from actual garment specs. The software can even show customers how the graphic will appear on different sizes of tees.
It also provides clarity and efficiency to our team, because the mock ups you approve are what we use on our production floor, so everyone is on the same page as to what the final product should be.
We recently ran a series of very complex designs for Topo Chico. It’s a big brand with a lot of history to live up to. And, there are many stakeholders who need to sign off on approvals so that the brand stays on point. It’s the type of job where one unclear detail early in the process can cost everyone time, trust, and money.
SEDDI put together a case study on the Topo Chico project. It’s an honest look at how we work and think about things, and real we’re proud of it.
Check it out.
